Human Landscapes. Portraits of Six Turkish Authors (WDR 2010)

The multilingual documentary film series, "Human Landscapes. Portraits of Six Turkish Authors" by Cologne-based filmmaker Osman Okkan, explores the lives of six renowned authors from Turkey.

I. Nazım Hikmet – Şair ve devrimci
II. Yaşar Kemal – Şiirsellik ve politika arasında
III. Orhan Pamuk – Bir kentin izindeki romancı
IV. Elif Şafak – Mistisizmle modernite arasında edebiyat
V. Murathan Mungan – Boğaz’ın gözde yazarı
VI. Aslı Erdoğan – Cennetle ölümün sınırında bir yazar

The series includes new versions of the portraits of Nazım Hikmet and Yaşar Kemal previously broadcast on WDR/ARTE.

The TV versions (6 x 10 min.) were aired for the first time on WDR in December 2010. The long versions of the films (6 x 30 min.) were released as a six-part DVD edition with accompanying booklets featuring essays by renowned authors in German and Turkish.
